Securities & Civil Rights Law

Ms. Stein has been practicing securities and civil rights law for over 20 years. She has represented over 700 investors in claims against stock brokers with a 98% success rate. She recovered millions of dollars in retirement savings for individuals including teachers, business owners, doctors, other lawyers, and even a NASA rocket scientist.


Ms. Stein has also represented thousands of people in class actions against businesses and government entities. During the Flint Water Crisis, Ms. Stein worked with the Center for Civil Justice representing underprivileged people in mass class actions.

Over the past 30+ years, Ms. Stein has worked with dozens of entities to support small business  growth, provide community services, and obtain funding for people's dreams, including:

Ms. Stein  earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1991 from University of MIchigan - Ann Arbor Residential College where she majored in Social Sciences and attained Spanish Proficiency.


She earned her law degree in 2000 from Loyola University Chicago School of Law  where she was:


  • a Law Journal Writer for the Public Interest Law Reporter,
  • an Academic Merit Scholar, 
  • a member of the Dean's List
  • a recipient of the Leadership and Service Award, and
  • a recipient of the Pro Bono Recognition Award.


Ms. Stein is also a Certified Grant Writer

Ms. Stein has served on many boards of directors. She spent six years as an Appointed Evaluator to the State Bar of Michigan Standing Committee on Character and Fitness.


She is also a Past President of the Women Lawyers Association of MIchigan and was elected to the State Board of Directors for eleven consecutive years.

Clerkships

During law school, Ms. Stein was a Judicial Intern for the United States District Court in Chicago, Illinois. Initially, this was a three-month position. Ms. Stein held the position for nineteen months and has unprecedented authority to use judicial opinions as personal writing samples.


After law school, Ms. Stein was a law clerk for the State of Michigan Court of Appeals. In that role, 100% of her draft judicial opinions were published without modification.
